Balanga City government, under the leadership of Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon supports the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program of the national government.

In line with the program, cleanup activity was recently conducted in Barangay Central participated by city and barangay officials, residents, and volunteers.

Balanga has been conducting regular cleanup activities in all 25 barangays under the city program ABKD (Ayusin, Buhayin, at Kalingain Daluyan ng tubig) launched by Garcia and Venzon-Gozon. Sangguniang Panlungsod members supports the community cleanup program.

The Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program promoted by DILG aims to raise public awareness and participation in environmental responsibilities through proper waste management, encourage LGUs to invest in related programs and projects, and set up a recognition system for cleanest LGUs.
